|WHO IS RICHIE RICH AND THE CHI-TOWN BLUES BAND
Richie Rich (Rich Ryan) is an accomplished blues musician who has been singing,
writing and performing the blues for nearly 25 years. His music is being played in over
37 countries and he was reviewed by the prestigious Windy City Blues Society as “Show
of the Year”. Richie has performed in shows with many of the top blues artists in the
world including Bob Stroger, Koko Taylor, Pinetop Perkins, Joe Kelley, Buddy Guy, Carl
Weathersby, Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater, Billy Flynn, Kenny Smith, Eddie Taylor Jr.,
Mike Wheeler and many others. Richie’s band, The Chi-Town Blues Band, is a group of
seasoned blues and jazz veterans who have performed directly with music greats such
as Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, Albert Collins, Miles Davis, Albert King, Koko Taylor,
Mavis Staples, Buddy Guy, Carlos Santana and many more. Periodic guest musicians
that perform with Richie have also played with The B52’s, Elton John, KEM, Eric Clapton,
The Rolling Stones, Kid Rock and Bon Jovi. The band members are professional,
courteous and have toured all over the World.
WHAT ABOUT THEIR MUSIC
Prior to forming the Chi-Town Blues Band, Richie was the lead singer for The Funky
White Boys and decided to pursue a solo career. In 2005, Richie, while on his own,
released the smash hit single “Frisky Whiskey”. At that time he also began to form what
is known today as Richie Rich and The Chi-Town Blues Band, which consists of the who’
s who in blues and jazz. Following the completion of the Cadillac Records CD, Richie
went into the studio to record “From The Streets” along with Billy Flynn, Barrelhouse
Chuck, Kenny Smith and members of the Tommy Dorsey touring orchestra. "From The
Streets" was released in 2011 by Interscope Digital Distribution (Tunecore/Universal
Music Group) and peaked at number 4 on the blues charts.
“From The Streets” is available for streaming on TouchTunes and AMI digital juke boxes
located in most bars, pubs, taverns and restaurants throughout the United States and
Canada, it is available for purchase through 15 different online and retail
stores including iTunes and Amazon.com and, according to BMI, it is being played in 37
different countries worldwide including all of Europe, Asia, Russia and The Middles East
on the radio, online streaming, in movies and on television shows.
The band is set to release it’s next record called “At Rock Bottom” in the summer of 2013
to coincide with the "2013 At Rock Bottom Tour".
At Rock Bottom was recording in Chicago with the regular touring members of
The Chi-Town Blues Band and also includes a number of special guests including Jimmie
Bones on piano (Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, Howling Diablos, Blackwater Surprise) and
David McMurray on tenor sax and flute
